CHRONOLOGICAL NOTES

Page 3

This issue follows directly from last issue's cliffhangers, as Professor X survives the Master Mold's attack, and the X-Men are held captive.

Page 20, panels 5 and 6

Bolivar Trask dies in this story, and to the best of my knowledge has never been resurrected. Any flashbacks where he's featured must be placed before this issue.

Master Mold is destroyed here, and will later be rebuilt by Stephen Lang. It's first major action happens in Incredible Hulk Annual (1978) #7, so it shouldn't be making any high-profile appearances between these two stories.

There's a shadowy figure lurking at the mansion (who could it be?!?). This is a tease for next issue, which continues almost directly from this one.

COUNTING THE DAYS

This issue takes place over two days, beginning on the same day as last issue.

  • Day 1:
    • Page 1 to 7.2: The X-Men are held captive, Professor X drags himself to a road to flag down a car, and Master Mold threatens Trask into agreeing to create more Sentinels.
  • Day 2:
    • Page 7.3 to 20: The X-Men escape, Professor X figures out how to deactivate the Sentinels, and Bolivar Trask sacrifices his life to destroy the Master Mold.
